Today in Europe 4.5 million young people, aged 15-24 years, are unemployed. Work, economy and labour market change fast and to be an employee now and in the future cannot always be a possible choice.
Europe 2020 strategy identifies entrepreneurship and self-employment as key to create jobs, developing skills and giving unemployed young people an opportunity to fully participate to the growth of economy and the improvement of society.
Entrepreneurial skills and attitudes are strategic for young people. Despite of this, no european country has fully integrated entrepreneurship education in the education planning system of each government. Only 11 European school systems out of 28 have a specific strategy on entrepreneurship education.
EYEE intends to broaden and strengthen at European level the local experience of EYE – Ethics and Young Entrepreneurs – an Italian programme for the promotion of ethical youth entrepreneurship born in Prato and in Florence in 2012.
